Motion Graphics, Sound Design & Edited by Çağdaş Işık

Conclave Title Sequence

I loved bringing this project to life as the motion designer, editor, and sound designer, an opportunity to showcase my visual storytelling style. I started with editing shots from the film that served as a cohesive sequence. I then experimented with textures and effects that highlighted the darker undertones of the story & colour graded the scenes to add harmony & finished with editing three different songs together to serve as the intro, main piece, outro & overlayed vocals from Lawrence’s speech, mixing the sound levels to ensure cohesion.
I used a serif typeface inspired by Roman Inscriptions to capture the setting of the film (Italy/Vatican City)

June 2025
Inspired by the double exposure graphics in the True Detective intro, I aimed to capture the darker, more intense political undercurrents within Conclave and use a subtle interplay between light and dark to symbolise the tension between faith and ambition. I used these elements to introduce key characters, showcase the rich imagery from the film and fore-shadow themes in the story, tying it all together with smoky textures that echo the ritual of electing a new pope, as smoke rises from the Sistine Chapel.
